After months of waiting, they have finally begun construction on the Cross On The Prairie. They brought out all the pieces back in December 2015 but the ground was too soft to bring in the crane needed to lift the cross.
Oklahoma was blessed with a very mild and wet winter which went into a very wet spring. This was a blessing for all the ranchers and farmers but it has delayed the cross. After several weeks of a dry hot summer the ground is finally dry enough to bring in the crane. It has taken them two weeks to weld all the pieces, and then to put on most of the “skin”.
The crane is scheduled to arrive on-site at noon on Wednesday, July 27. They plan on erecting the cross that evening or the morning of July 28. It will all depend on the wind and the weather. We are getting rain as I write this, but hopefully not enough to delay the erecting of the cross!
This is very exciting for all of us at Creation Science Institute, as the first of many projects is started. If you would like to help us financially with this and other projects please consider visiting our Fundraising page. We are a 501(c)3, and all donations are tax-deductible.
Thank you for your interest and support. Plan your visit soon to see the Cross on the Prairie. We are located halfway between Pryor and Adair, Oklahoma, on Highway 69.
